Shannon Smith was born and raised in Cave Creek, Arizona and has been a teacher at Adaptive Force since 2017. She has trained in a variety of styles such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and postmodern contemporary techniques. Shannon was also a part of the Cactus Shadows Varsity Pom team for two years in high school, winning state and national titles her senior year. She is currently a student at Arizona State University where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance, a bachelor’s degree in English, and a minor degree in Spanish with plans to graduate in 2021. At ASU, Shannon has performed and presented choreography in multiple shows doing both faculty and student work. She also was chosen to perform in the American Dance Festival’s Footprints showcase in a recreation of Paul Taylor’s “Esplanade” set by Michael Trusnovec.
